pause

the yard sale was okay. not great, but not terrible either. we all got rid of a few things, but also re-packed a lot of the things that we had hoped to get rid of. typically, i also managed to come home with a few things from my friends' tables as well. when all the packing and sorting is done, i'm going to call one of the trucks that the diabetes association has that will come and pick up clothes, furniture, etc. but that's next week and it seems so far off.

this afternoon, i'm hopping on the bus and heading to antigonish for the rest of the week to spend some time with the family before m. and i make our move. i'm looking forward to the opportunity to get to spend some time with everyone, but i know that this is the beginning of the end, and that the next two weeks are going to be emotional and hectic. part of me feels that i should be starting to pack and clean this week, but i need to relax for a few days and see everyone that i might not get to see for ages. the packing will get done. after moving eight times in the last eight years, i've developed a bit of a talent for it, i think. i'm hoping that with less time, i'll be more ruthless and get rid of the junk that i've moved from apartment to apartment. we're paying by the pound, so it really is important to get rid of the junk.

when i was out running errands this morning, i kept thinking of all of the things that i was going to miss about halifax and nova scotia. i've been developing this list for months now. today i've been thinking about: the great music, the market, and my favourite tea.

i'll be back near a computer in a week or so, with pictures of my trip to antigonowhere.
