b is for baby
a few years ago, having finished university, i was looking for a job. michelle felt sorry for me was desperate and hired me. that was over three years ago.
since then, michelle and i have become close friends. she's wicked funny and one of the most generous and loyal people i know. she's taught me a lot. when we met, i was quiet and she, well, wasn't. i'm a little louder now and, thanks to michelle, much more likely to stand up for myself when i'm getting a raw deal.
on monday, michelle gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. there have been a few bumps in the road for her and her family over the past few days, but like michelle, the babe is proving to be a spunky fighter. please send good thoughts their way.
the harlot has written many times about the connection between knitting and babies. upon hearing that michelle had had the baby, i felt the need to start some knitting for the wee one. i hadn't really done much knitting while she was expecting, as the sex of the baby was unknown ahead of time. i figured i'd wait, not keen on knitting a lot of yellow and pastels (michelle said i could knit it something black and red). without any yarn in the stash appropriate for a girl's sweater, i started on some socks. just a few hours later i had finished the one above. it's so tiny i could hardly believe it. so cute. more baby socks will be knit.
