snow and sleeves

In Nova Scotia yesterday, we woke up to this:

Yep, that's snow, and no, I'm not ready to stop complaining about it. Alright, maybe I am. After the snow it rained. Hard. Now the snow is gone and temperatures are heading back towards seasonal. As my grandma said, soon we'll be complaining about the heat. Touché.

I took the opportunity to spend yesterday in Halifax, since my mom was taking my grandmother up for a doctor's appointment. It was a busy, but enjoyable, day. I got a haircut (finally*) and spent the afternoon with two good friends and their babies.

As a result of the trip, I didn't really get much knitting done (I had a sock with me, but just didn't have the mojo). I have made a start on the sleeves for Ivy and think I've sorted out how to do a short cap sleeve. I figure the worst case scenario is that I have to rip them out if they don't work. Right?

Off to tackle the sleeves...

Happy Friday.

*While you may wonder why I have to drive two and a half hours to get a haircut, let me say that I'm quite particular about who cuts my hair. It's thick and naturally frizzy/wavy. Lots of people have screwed this up. I'm willing to wait and travel for a decent haircut. That is all.
