I've spent this very rainy Sunday doing absolutely none of the things I should have. The kitchen isn't any cleaner, the laundry's not put away, week's meals aren't prepared. Instead, knowing full well that this promises to be a very busy week, I elected to do not much of anything. I slept in (which is a rare feat for me), I listened to Wiretap, ate some chocolate, watched The Muppet Christmas Carol for the first time in years and years, knit, ate some more chocolate, knit some more. My plans for the rest of the evening include making some breakfast for supper, watching Elf when it's on tv in an hour or so, doing some more knitting (it is coming awfully close to Christmas) and maybe having a beer (scroll down to the Winter Ale). All this in a futile attempt to brace myself for the week ahead.
It feels nice to be doing nothing but knitting and stuffing my face with chocolate. These Christmas movies just might manage to infuse me with just enough of the holiday spirit to prevent me from biting anyone's head of this week. Hard to tell, but I really do love Christmas. I'm just not a fan of how it makes some people behave. Sigh.
Scrambled eggs and secret knitting are beckoning.

Those Christmas lights look so sparkly and pretty!
Sounds like a delicious Sunday! Anyone in your job position more than deserves a little downtime to get through the hectic holidays with their sanity intact.
Enjoy the season while you can, all those "shoulds" can wait!
