beachy

This week, I detected the distinct whiff of spring in the air. It's not permanent, I'm sure, but it was enough to get me through a long February week. Soon March will be along, with visits, longer days, and the official beginning to spring (even if it doesn't show up in full for some weeks). I'm trying my best to not wish winter away, heeding these words of wisdom, and enjoying the beauty that others see in winter.

March will undoubtedly be a struggle, but I'm taking advantage of small boosts in energy, making batches of food, enjoying (infrequent) consecutive days off, returning to some of the projects that I started ages ago.

A trip to the beach today with my camera was a great way to transition into a new week. Usually extremely cold on winter days, today the weather at the beach was mild and sunny. Everything is still pretty much frozen, but if you get close enough to the small stretches of sand not covered in snow, and breathe deep, you can smell that lovely salty smell, and maybe, just maybe, a hint of summer.

More on flickr, as always.

Now to make some vegetable soup.
